The X1, & X2 Aluminium Ground Coffee Kit is compatible with pre 2004 FrancisFrancis X1 machines, and X2 machines.  If you'd rather not use E.S.E pods, then the Ground Coffee Kit is for you. It enables you to use your own ground coffee.

 

The ground coffee handle has the same fitting as the ESE holder, so simply swap out the ESE and use the ground coffee holder in its place.  The Ground coffee handle comes complete with two cups, for single or double servings.

HOW TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE ORDERING THE CORRECT PRODUCT
FrancisFrancis machines were initially designed with an aluminium boiler, this was later improved (early 2004) to a brass boiler and components. However, as a result of this improvement, the handle attachments are different. Some shops, and some on-line auctions are still selling machines with aluminium boilers, so make sure you know what you're getting.

TO IDENTIFY WHAT BOILER YOU HAVE
With the FrancisFrancis machine facing you, tilt it backwards until you can see the area where the water would dispense through the E.S.E pod holder. There is a rubber ring (usually red) that circles the area in question. If the area around the rubber ring is silver coloured, then you have an ALUMINIUM boiler. If the area is brass/copper coloured, then you have a BRASS boiler. The mesh sieve can be brass or silver coloured in the BRASS model - it's the area around the ring that's the distinguishing factor.
