Xpress Coffee - Porsche Carrera Cup (30/03/2008 @ 15:43:57)
Xpress Coffee have become the Offical Coffee Suppliers for Jota Sport in this season Porsche Carrera Cup.
With time against them as the first races of the season started at Brands Hatch this weekend, Xpress Coffee had a Taylor made Jura X7-S machine asembled by Jura Uk just in time for Xpress Coffee to have it installed in the VIP tent in time for the first race.
Phil Quaife marked his Porsche Carrera Cup GB return with 4th place in the season opener at Brands Hatch on Saturday as Jota Sport made their debut in the UK's fastest one make series. However there was misfortune for team-mate Sam Hancock whose race ended in the gravel at Paddock Hill Bend.
On a damp track, with a threat of further rain, Hancock opted to start the race on wet tyres, with Quaife going for slicks and the rest of the field split 50/50 in their choice of Michelins.
Hancock made a brilliant start from 5th on the grid and looked set to lead into the first corner. However disaster struck when he was taken out by spinning poleman Tim Bridgman, an incident which left both cars stranded in the Paddock Hill Bend gravel and out of the race.
Following a safety car period to remove the pair's stricken cars, Michael Caine led the race from Tim Harvey and Andy Britnell. Quaife meanwhile was making strong progress through the field despite the far from ideal conditions as the drizzle continued to fall.
A second SC period, after Nigel Rice spun out of fourth place, halted Quaife's progress, but in the dying laps he won a closely fought battle with Steve Rance to claim a hard-earned fourth overall and third in class finish.

Then after being awarded a contraversial penatly in the 73rd minute Captain Keith Andrews placed the ball perfectly in the bottom right hand corner making it 1-0.
Seven minutes later Sean O'Hanlon headed home number two making it 2-0 to the Dons. After a nail biting last ten or so minutes the Dons bring home their first piece of Silverware.

Daily Telegraph Reccomends Xpress Coffee Uk (23/10/2007 @ 21:57:12)
As reviewed by the Daily Telegraph 20th October 2007:
Francis Francis X6
Price: £248.80
From: www.xpresscoffeeuk.co.uk
A collaborative effort between renowned espresso machine maker Francis Francis and the Italian architect Luca Trazzi, the X6 is certainly a wonderful-looking bit of kit. There's something reassuringly "old school" about it with its all-brass boiler and temperature gauge. It brews coffee using the Illy pod system, and can easily handle short shots (ristrettos), normal espressos and longer shots, such as macchiatos. It produces a wonderfully refined flavour and the frother created a foamy milk in the blink of an eye. It's a wonderful, compact machine and, when we last looked, this online store was even throwing in some Illy coffee pods, coffee cups, descaler and warranty for the price.

After half time the Dons seemed to take more control with Lloyd Dyer scoring in the 70th minute to make it 2-0 to the Dons. With 2 more goals within the space of 4mins from Arron Wilbraham and then again from Leon Knight making his tally on the day to 2 and leaving the scorline at Mk Dons 4 - Lincoln 0.

Drinking Coffee Helps Skin Cancer (31/07/2007 @ 19:02:29)
1st August 2007
Exercise and moderate caffeine consumption together could help ward off sun-induced skin cancer, researchers have said, but cautioned against ditching the sun screen in favor of a jog and a cappuccino.
Experiments on mice showed that caffeine and exercise together somehow made them better able to destroy precancerous cells whose DNA had been damaged by ultraviolet-B radiation, according to scientists at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
The researchers studied groups of hairless mice that were exposed to lamps generating ultraviolet-B radiation that damaged DNA in their skin cells.
One group drank water containing the human equivalent of one or two cups of coffee a day. A second group exercised on a running wheel. A third group exercised and drank the caffeine. A fourth group neither exercised nor drank caffeine.
Both caffeine and exercise alone increased by roughly 100 percent the mice's ability to kill off precancerous cells that could lead to skin cancer compared to the mice that did neither. But the mice that did both showed a nearly 400 percent increase in this ability, the researchers found.
The researchers are eager to discover if the findings would apply to humans, but in the meantime warned people not to give up the sunscreen.
"Don't go out and exercise and drink a lot of coffee and assume you're going to be protected," Conney said.
"Keep in mind that these are studies in mice. Although I think that they may be applicable to humans, it really has to be studied carefully before we can say that," Conney added.
