Limescale - Your Machine’s Biggest Enemy

Filed under: Coffee Machine Articles — auctiondesigns @ 9:52 am

If there’s one thing that your coffee machine needs to avoid, it’s limescale; and the most frustrating thing for Coffee Machine Servicing and Repair engineers is that the problem can almost always be avoided with basic maintenance by the user.

Limescale will develop in your machine every day – just like a kettle – and can start to affect the performance of the machine and even the taste of the coffee if left to build up.  Anti-limescale cartridges are available and your model may even be fitted with a built-in device depending on the machine.  Cartridges are very easy to use and some will even come with an indicator to tell you when it’s time to change the cartridge for a new one.

If your machine model doesn’t have a manufacturer’s recommended filter, the simplest thing is to buy a multi-purpose de-scaler or cleaning solution to use on your coffee machine.  Cleaning and de-scaling tablets are widely available and are convenient to use as you simply drop a tablet into the machine and running a standard cycle before rinsing out again.

Quite simply, regular cleaning and de-scaling of your machine will stop most problems from arising in the first place and should eradicate the need of an expensive call-out charge for something which is so easily preventable.

Bean-to-Cup - The freshest Coffee Around

Filed under: Coffee Machine Articles — auctiondesigns @ 9:49 am

A bean-to-cup machine will do all the hard work of grinding the coffee beans to make sure that you get the freshest cup of coffee possible – it literally does what it says on the tin!  The bean grinder is usually located on top of the machine and will grind just the right amount of beans for your beverage.  The ground coffee beans then pass into a brewing chamber inside the machine before your coffee flows out of the machine and into your cup.  The used coffee grounds are then dispensed into a separate tray to be discarded quickly and easily, leaving the bare minimum of cleaning for you.

Additional extras can also provide you with freshly steamed milk direct into your chosen drink and some machines have many varieties of coffee available such as latte, cappuccino, espresso and macchiato – all made in the same bean-to-cup process.  Machines are available in all sizes to suit the space that you have available and the amount of usage that you need.  They are also available in a choice of colours and finishes to ensure that it will fit in with your decor too.

Types of coffee beans vary enormously too – as with standard instant coffee there are many to choose from.  Enjoy trying a variety of different brands and flavours and pretty soon you will find your favourite and become a bean-to-cup convert!
