A look at espresso based coffee drinks Part 1

Filed under: Coffee Articles — Paula @ 12:10 pm

In the last article, we touched upon some of the most popular types of coffee drink. We will now look at the options you can choose, which are based on the espresso coffee flavour.

Caffè Latte

This drink is probably the most well-known and popular forms of coffee drink out there. This simple but classic beverage is enjoyed the world over. To get its smooth and creamy taste it combines hot steamed milk with a shot of intense espresso. To top it off, a layer of foam is often added. Some people prefer this coffee even stronger and like to add extra shots of espresso. You can also choose extra flavours of syrup in some establishments, such as hazelnut, vanilla or caramel to sweeten the taste.

Cappuccino

The cappuccino is another extremely popular style of coffee. This Italian based coffee drink is prepared using a shot of espresso, hot milk, steamed-milk, with a generous helping of foam. This gives it the famous light and foamy taste. Again, some people prefer to add extra shots of espresso for a more intense taste. Plus, the drink wouldn’t be authentic without the sprinkling of chocolate on the top!

We will continue with this theme in the next article, looking at Americano, Mocha and Macchiato coffee drinks.

How do you like to take your coffee?

Filed under: Coffee Articles — John @ 9:45 am

As you will already know, especially if you are a coffee connoisseur, there are many ways you can enjoy your daily cup of coffee and it all depends on your personal preference. We will now look at the most popular forms of coffee consumption, which you can find in almost any coffee chain around the world.

Fresh Filter Coffee

The selection of coffee bean has everything to do with the taste of your freshly brewed filter coffee. Different varieties of beans from around the world produce their own unique taste, so there is always plenty of choice to buy online, or enjoy in your local coffee shop. You can either take this coffee black, or add a touch of milk or cream to your cup.

Espresso

Some people like to enjoy their coffee in the most concentrated form. This pressurised coffee-making method forces hot water under pressure through finely ground coffee. The espresso is great if you just want a shot of coffee in a morning to prepare you for a long day ahead. This form of coffee is also the basis for other coffee types including lattes, cappuccino, macchiato and mochas.

In the next article we will look at the various coffee beverages you can choose, which are based on the intense espresso coffee taste.
