Xpress Coffee have always been very vocal in their support of The Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, and it’s that time of year again!
Taking place on Friday 30th September 2011, we urge you all to show your support and do whatever you can to give back to this amazing charity.
You don’t have to have a huge setup, or be able to donate loads of money - every little helps! Wherever you work, ask everyone if they are able to bring in a few cakes to donate to the coffee morning (bought or homemade count!), and then charge everyone a small amount for a cup of coffee and a cake - simple! You get to have a great time in the office and raise some money for charity in the process.
Please show your support in any way that you can - Xpress Coffee would like to wish everyone luck. Let’s raise a record amount this year together!
If you want to host a coffee morning and need any advice or support, then please take a look at the Macmillan website: http://www.macmillan.org.uk
Xpress Coffee are pleased to announce the formation of a new co-operative body of coffee machine service engineers. The Association of Independent Espresso Engineers has been formed as ‘a national network of highly motivated and passionate local espresso engineers’.
There are to be up to 25 operators in the new body, forming a national network of engineers which will shortly be found through a single portal website, www.aiee.org.uk.
The companies which we know to be involved so far are: Xpress Coffee Commercial, Caffeine Fix, Northern Central Espresso, Espresso Repair, Uno Coffee Service, Coffix, Dave Harvey, Kent Coffee, Universal Espresso Care, Roy Ireland, Espresso Technical Services.
Xpress Coffee Commercial’s MD comments “After our own engineer had a heart attack in 2009 it made us realize that independent all have similar problems with holidays, illness, etc that could finish their company overnight. It made sense to have an organization that can work as a synergy helping each other and to share knowledge and experience as well as stock and part holdings
Xpress Coffee’s Association of Independent Espresso Engineers, has held its first national meeting with over 20 independent engineers attending at our Xpress Coffee Commercial Offices.. A spokesman for Xpress Coffee said the organization had confirmed the value of independent engineers having personal contacts with their opposite numbers all over the country, for the exchange of technical information and assistance, and had now established a formal code of conduct – which includes an issue brought up elsewhere in the trade, the undesirability of engineers using technical visits to pitch for coffee sales.
